Nick is married to Jaime Baker, who was also an Amercian Family Insurance Agent for approximately 10 years. They have two sons, Carson and Brady Heuvelmann.

Nick is a graduate of the Sonoran Desert Institute, and also served honorably for 6 years in the United States Air Force. Nick then pursued an 18-year career in Law Enforcement before coming to American Family in 2024.

Nick is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and their two Golden Doodles.

Nick comes to American Family after working in Law Enforcement since 2006. Most recently he was the Supervisor for Probation/Parole covering 5 counties in Southeast Iowa. Nick is also currently a Reserve Police Officer for the West Burlington Police Department and has served for multiple agencies in the Southeast Iowa area since 2006.
